Little joys...
I have to admit, excitement comes with watching Stewart buy cds. It's always a treat to see him so excited. Last night, he told me about these two cds he found as he was checking out CD Plus.com yesterday afternoon. When I asked him what he wanted to do for the evening, he said he didn't care but if we could go buy one of the cds, he'd really like that. I just laughed at him. Then, about 8:45, he mentioned it again...I was like, "Good grief, just go buy it already!" He jumped up like a 4 year old and said, "Really??!!!???" It's not that he needs my permission, but I think he wanted my blessing. I laughed so hard. He just ran around the house grabbing his jacket and quickly calling the store to make sure they were open until 9...and that he'd be right there. Too funny! Then today, I get an email thanking me for letting him buy the cd. Can you tell who keeps track of the finances in our home??? I'll have to make sure he knows he's allowed to buy stuff. :D
We're in the double digits! I can't believe the ticker today says 96 days! I know that's still 3 months, but I'm almost to the third trimester! Apparently that's when things start to get uncomfortable. Hmmm...I guess these last months were supposed to be bliss then?? I didn't get the memo. Well actually, it hasn't been that bad, but I haven't been sleeping well which makes everything else in life more difficult to handle. I have to pee and then I can't find a comfortable position to sleep in so I toss and turn. I suppose I wouldn't notice it so much except that before pregnancy, I was one of those 'hit the pillow and completely gone until the alarm clock' sleepers so this is very different! I know, I know...it's preparation for when the baby comes! I'm excited to take care of the baby...even knowing that it will mean sleepless nights! I keep thinking (and maybe this is naive!) that once the baby is here, I can also have a nap when baby naps....which I think will help. Anyway...enough blabbing about that!
My tummy is growing bigger and Shantel thinks I'm cute so I'm happy about that! Baby sometimes kicks up a storm and the next time it's all quiet in there. Those times freak me out, but then I just picture baby sleeping peacefully. We're still talking about names. We have names for both boys and girls that we like, but we're always coming up with new ideas to see if we like them better. So far, we're still pretty hung up on the originals we chose. We still have lots of times to change our minds though! Naming a new person is such a tricky job. You want something that you'll personally like, but also that others will like...and then hopefully the kid will like it, too! So much pressure! I've officially axed Loretta and Virginia from the options. No, they were never official options, but Stewy seems to think they are beautiful names. We don't always agree, that Stewy and I! So, no offense to you Lorettas and Virginia's out there, but I'm thinking those names had their moments in a different era!
I'm also joyful about Christmas! I love celebrating Christ's coming to earth and I love the opportunity that it brings to have family get together. All of Stewy's family is planning to congregate in Regina and I'm really looking forward to experiencing that! I'm also very excited to spend a few days with my whole family together. It's always such a treat...and this year, my mom's extended family is getting together twice, so that's even better! Just gotta get some shopping done now!
Well, this has been a little rambling session....nothing deep here! Thanks for stopping by!

I have read all of your blog intries and must say... a bit anti-american aren't we? Correct me if I am wrong, but don't you have family that you married into that are american? Isn't your husband half american? I am sure they weren't offended in the least by your "I love america" statements. why don't you just go right ahead and offend their families by name?
Our "closed minds" are obviously a problem for you and your, umm, not so closed mind? Maybe being a little bit more "open minded" about the baby names your husband likes could be the start to a little protest to us americans, showing us what being open minded looks like.
Correct me if I am wrong, but aren't we the ones who opened the store that you are so frustrated with, that offers you the cute maternaty pants to begin with. Don't like our policies, shop at your own stores! Oh, but from the sound of things, Canadian stores SUCK when it comes to the fashion sence of a pregnant school teacher!
Well, I am going to take my intolerance and leave now, maybe you should do the same!
Have fun raising a baby... who is a quarter american!
Thanks,
An American, and proud of it!

Holy Moly, I haven't looked at your comments in quite awhile but I hadn't seen the angry American's comments until tonight! Yikes. Drama. What's the DEAL with that?
Apparently the owner of the gap is a bit defensive and likes the name Loretta?? That person should see just how 'half-American' your relatives really are, even your full-blooded mother-in-law. LOL I can't even remember any anti-Americanism except your frustration with them not shipping to Canada?
Anyway, I know you love several American people, as do I, but I just wanted to say sorry for that person's drama (and such courageous anonymity). I might have a theory on her identity - ooo how I love a mystery! LOL Talk to you later. :) xoxo

Yeah, B...I have to say S2 and I were both shocked at the comments I'd generated! I only saw it this week. My goodness...I was only saying that I didn't understand why they didn't want to take my money as I wasn't even asking them to SHIP to Canada.
Anyway..I'm all set with pants now however I'm pretty curious about the identity of "American Woman"! You have a theory??? Tell me, tell me!
I suppose we'll just have to reconsider 'Loretta'! :)

yeah, maybe that's why the lyrics to "American Woman" state that he wants her to, "stay away from me."

nope! But I would like to appologize on behalf of all good Amaricans, and no... it was not me. Quite insulted. I do read this blog, and don't comment... well, only once before, but it was for good, not evil. I think I am what you call a lerker. Just like to know what's going on in the families I know and love. Prayers and Blessings to you TaraLee. Sound like a good DEAL?

OK I don't like this mystery anymore and should have kept my mouth shut from defending my SIL from the AWoman.
Just wanted to say here that if anyone thought I was accusing them of something, I am sorry.
And I have learned that I have no idea who the AWoman is, which is fine with me.
